About us

The Ohio University Sound Design Studio members are undergraduate BFA and graduate MFA students in the School of Theater.  Our curriculum focuses on designing systems and content for live performance including plays, musicals, dance, film, and more. In addition to declared majors, we welcome anyone who has an interest in experimenting, creating, and researching audio, and host a variety of hands-on experiential learning possibilities.

Our mission

We empower students to create new and personal work.  We envision and work towards an equitous future where live sound and audio engineering is a field accessible to people of all backgrounds.  We rely on experimentation and science to guide us in the pursuit of new research and technologies.  We believe that sound design is a collaborative course of study which is relevant across industries and throughout communities.
